When Rare Communications required a new corporate identity and website they wanted an agency who not only ticked the creative and technical ability boxes but also had a good understanding of their business and that of the industries in which they operate.
As a top rated PR agency specialising in the kids, youth and entertainment sectors, Rare wanted a site which not only gave them the ability to promote all their fantastic credentials and case studies, but also provided a vehicle which would be used to provide industry news and views in the form of a Rare PR blog. In addition, Rare felt that their existing corporate identity should be refreshed and asked Bionic to propose their ideas on how this could be evolved. Given our understanding of the entertainment sector and strong alliances with key PR agencies, we understood what would work and how we should deliver the new site and corporate identity.
After an initial chat with Rare we set about looking at design options and wanted to nail the new corporate identity first and foremost. Given their tight industry focus, we felt there must be someway to incorporate their company name in their new identity, not only to define this industry focus but also demonstrate how rare it is to work with such a focused and dynamic PR agency. The result was the creation of an identity which reads 'We Are Rare Communications', but delivered very creatively, generating a lot of interest around the brand.
The website itself needed to be clean and intuitive whilst providing enough space to house all of Rare's credentials and business related information. In addition to the website in general, Bionic also provided Rare with the opportunity to update sections of the site, including a blog area, via a content management system (CMS). The CMS tool was built in order that updates were as simple as possible to aid with speed and effectiveness, including automatic image resizing, content editing and the ability to add external web links. The CMS tools allows Rare to build, distribute and manage HTML e-mail communications to their client database, ensuring that Rare can keep their clients up to date with key news stories and business updates quickly and cost effectively.
The site is now live and Rare are over the moon with the results. Louise Drabwell, Rare's Managing Director commented:
"As a PR agency specialising in the kids, youth and entertainment sectors along with expertise in brand licensing and virtual worlds, we needed an identity that reflected all these areas and Bionic interpreted and implemented our brief perfectly. We now have great new features such as our new industry blog and HTML newsletter and we feel the site reflects our brand personality, which is fresh, dynamic and fun. Thanks again to the brilliant Bionic team!".
