With the launch of a new TV series for Pingu, HIT Entertainment wanted to refresh the existing Pingu web site which did not provide the level of content or appeal required to reflect the new TV show’s programming and excitement. Bionic pitched along with a number of other agencies for the refresh of the site eventually winning the contract.
Bionic’s objective for the site was simple – to stay faithful to the new TV show and use as much of the content from the show in the new web site and to be mindful of the target audience age group of 5 – 9 year olds and provide content which would drive repeat visits and grab attention.
Bionic proposed that the site was built in Flash to enable the site to offer the variety of content required and also proposed that the site offer the user with a first hand experience of Pingu’s world by allowing a much closer link between the user and the site.
The site is packed full of content and will continue to develop over time. Bionic delivered the site in a format which can be implemented into HIT Entertainments content management system allowing HIT themselves to update the site over future months which was a key requirement.
The response from HIT to the site build was outstanding with HIT Entertainment’s Creative Director describing the site as “Phenomenal”. Phase 1 went live in mid December with Phase 2 deployed in February with regular content updates to follow.
But don’t take our word for it though, visit the site yourself and let us know what you think!
