To support the DVD launch of Dinosapien, Bionic were commissioned by BBC Worldwide to create a promotional micro site that would capture the imagination of fans of the show whilst engaging the target audience with highly immersive content.
With very little available in the way of creative materials Bionic had to dig deep to deliver a site that embodied the shows values and ignite interest in the target audience. We think we did just that!
At the heart of the site we created an awesome multi level game ‘Diggers and Dynamite’ from scratch (no reskins at Bionic!). In a race against time players have to guide Eno (the evolved dinosaur and hero of the show) out of a dangerously fragile mine shaft away from the dangers of the predatory Digger dinosaurs and a large pile of dynamite with a very short fuse using a torch as your only means of defence!
This game is designed to totally immerse players senses at all times. An increased state of tension was brought to the game by us going ballistic on the audio with sustained strings, ambient rumblings and ferocious dinosaur growls deployed throughout the game. It certainly scared the pants off us when we tested the game! Have a go yourself and let us know what you think!
Check out the Bionic micro-mini-site and play the game and brace yourself, things may get a little tense out there! Oh and turn your speakers up, the sound on this site rocks!
With over 16,000 visits in under 24 hours of the site going live (at the time of writing) it’s shaping up to be a monster hit of Jurassic proportions!
If you’d like to see what we could do for you and your brands why not get in touch? We’d love to hear from you.
